The Wildlife Oasis Vendicari is a natural reserve officially established in 1984 by the Sicilian Region. Full of beautiful beaches, salt marshes and fully cultivated areas, the Oasis is not only nature. Inside there are indelible traces of the passage of different peoples who, over the centuries, have lived in the area: the “tonnara” (a sort of depot for boats specifically designed for fishing tuna, as well as a factory of tuna-derived products) and the salt pans, both no longer in use, ad the imposing Swabian tower are all examples of this.

In this journey through history and nature, while retracing the evolution of the area, we can also relax by plunging in the beautiful sea in front of the tonnara before resuming our journey.
