Since 1896 Majore Restaurant is a place we can find the culinary traditions of Chiaramonte Gulfi. This restaurant is famous, even internationally, for its typical pork dishes.
Salvatore and his sister Maria do not have swollen heads and remain tenaciously faithful to the tradition, proud of their dishes prepared following their ancient family recipes. Every day they pay particular attention to the choice of high quality ingredients that contribute to making their menu timeless.
The specialty of the restaurant is “Risotto alla Majore”, prepared with pork sauce and Ragusano cheese, but gourmets and reviews also recommend the other tasty dishes that come out of the kitchen: “Cavati alla Norma”, Ravioli with pork sauce, pork jelly, stuffed ribs, Sicilian-style Falsomagro and the cold cuts produced by the restaurant: ham, sausage and the delicious salami.
Naturally all dishes are seasoned with “DOP Monti Iblei” extra virgin oil, a local variety of oil that continuosly receives high-ranking national and international awards.
Majore Restaurant boasts an extensive wine list, with a selection of the best wines, not only local but also national and international, enriched with a great variety of grappa and “meditation wines”.
The restaurant is cozy and it has two rooms, one more intimate on the ground floor and the other more spacious and suitable for banquets.
It is reccomanded to reserve a table as Majore Restaurant is very popular for its cuisine and for the excellent quality-price ratio.
